Is the HBA a clique run by "big builders"?
No, in fact the HBA is comprised of 600 members ranging from small scale builders to large corporations. Fifty percent of our members are Associate members including financial institutions, legal service providers and various building industry suppliers. All members are welcome and encouraged to participate.
If I join, will I get more business?
You will get more business only if you participate. The HBA provides members with networking opportunities throughout the year. Monthly general membership meetings, various councils and committees and social events are several ways in which you can build relationships and gain business. Get involved and you’ll get noticed.
Why should I join?
Your membership is an investment and your dues will more than be recouped when you utilize the many association benefits and services.
I'm very busy and I don't have the time to get involved, should I still join?
Yes! We can understand that most of our members don’t have spare time. That’s why the association exists; for business people who don’t have time to monitor legislation and ordinances that impact your business.
Now is not a good time to join, how about later in the year?
Later may be too late. You really can’t afford to delay in being informed with the fast changes in the industry. Your support now will ensure that we continue to represent all facets of the industry.
I am a member of other organizations like the Chamber of Commerce, why should I join the HBA?
As a member of the HBA you would have more of your interests represented. When the building industry is strong, you realize a stronger business and greater profits. Also, as a member, you’ll have an inside track on the latest industry news that correlate more to your business in the construction industry.
As a Remodeler, I have special needs, what's in it for me?
Your special needs are met through the Remodelors Council. In order to be a part of the Council, you must first be a member of our HBA. You can then address your needs and the council will work to help you meet them. By pooling our ideas, we can solve problems such as government regulations, licensure enforcement, etc.
