  • Workforce Development Committee
    Chair -  Mary Jordan, Gulf Coast Insurance
    The Tradesmen Education Council operates as a Council of the Home Builders Association of West Florida, Inc., affiliated with the Florida Home Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders.
     
    The Home Builders Association of West Florida supports the next generation of construction professionals through sponsorship of the Trades Education. The HBA Trades Scholarship Program enables students from any Northwest Florida vocational program to continue their education; receiving valuable vocational certifications that will help them launch a successful construction career. 
     
    Membership Committee
    Chair -  Suzanne Pollard Spann, Legacy Insurance Brokers
    The strength of the home building industry is fundamental to the strength of our nation. Our industry is responsible for providing shelter and comfort for our families, safety and protection for our communities, and millions of jobs for the economy. The Membership Committee recruits new members and also works to retain existing members. Membership is the lifeblood of the HBA.
     
    Cost & Codes Committee
    Chair -  Keith Branch, Good Foundations
    Reviews issues affecting inspections and permitting, its goal is to streamline the permitting process; review codes and standards issues.
     
     
    Builder Member Services
    Chair, Zach Noel - Clear Title
    The Builder Member Services Committee supports builder members through targeted programs and resources, including Meet the Builder events, Parade of Homes participation, and specialized training on rebates and member benefits. The committee focuses on enhancing engagement, maximizing value, and ensuring builders have access to tools and opportunities that support their success.
     
    Governmental Affairs Committee
    Chair - Austin Tenpenny, aDoor Properties
    Stays abreast of local Comprehensive Plans and Land Development Codes issues to make sure unnecessary regulations do not stifle the home building process.
     
     
       
    Professional Development Committee 
    Chair - Janson Thomas, Swift Supply & Co-Chair Lindy Hurd, First International Title
    The Professional Development Committee offers two focused training tracks—one tailored for builders and another for associate members. Through these tracks, the committee provides relevant, industry-specific education designed to enhance skills, improve business operations, and keep members informed on current practices, products, and opportunities within the construction and building industry.
